Participation may involve emotional subjects; however, we have taken measurements against these risks. If you feel uncomfortable during the process, you may stop or pause the activity, or decline to answer question or participate in any activity. If you participate in the drama development and performance, some physical movements can be anticipated. You may also withdraw from participation at any time during the project without comment or reason. Contact details of support groups will be provided to all participants. Names of independent counselors will be provided on request.
We would very much appreciate your participation in this research. To recognize you for your contribution, should you choose to participate, you will be invited to the preview performance of the drama for fact checking and information verification; and receive two complimentary tickets to the final drama performance. If you choose to disclose your identity, you will be given appropriate acknowledgement in the publication of the research and drama performance program.
Participation in this research involves photography, audio and/or video recording. It is possible to participate in the project without being audio or video recorded. The research welcomes and respects anonymity and will endeavour to protect the identity of those who wish to remain completely anonymous. If you do not wish to be audio and/or video recorded but still wish to participate in the project, a one-on-one interview may be arranged without any audio or video recording. Please contact the principal researcher Margaret Cheung for more information.
Your participation in this project is entirely voluntary. If you do agree to participate, you can withdraw from the project at any time without comment or reason. Any identifiable information already obtained from you will be destroyed. Your decision to participate, or not participate, will in no way impact upon your current or future relationship with QUT.
Privacy and Confidentiality
The names of individual persons are not required in any of the responses. If you choose to disclose your identity, you will be given appropriate acknowledgement in the publication of the research and drama performance program. If you choose not to disclose your identity, all comments and responses will be treated confidentially and all information that you provide will be used anonymously. You may also choose to use a pseudonym.
This project involves still photography, audio and video recording to capture authentic verbal, physical and facial responses. We capture video recordings because we want to remain true to your responses, which come not only from verbal words but also from physical expression. We want to represent you in the drama performance with as much authenticity as possible. The only people who will have access to these recordings are the principal researcher, supervisors, and transcribers. Such recordings will be transcribed and utilized during the drama development at a later stage. Parts of the audio and video recordings may be used verbatim or without alteration as part of the research reporting or be included in the drama performance. In such cases, participants’ identity will not be disclosed unless specific consent has been granted.
